About Us

Our Mission, Vision, and Core Values

Rooted in Springfield is working to combat food insecurity by empowering the East Side of Springfield through community connection, development, and hands-on urban agriculture and culinary education. The organization works alongside residents procuring fresh produce to ensure lasting community wellness.

To expand these vital programs, we are currently working to establish a permanent low cost fresh food market and community hub on the East Side, complete with a dedicated garden space and culinary teaching  kitchen. This will be a place where neighbors gather, learn, cook, plant, and take control of their food future—together. Every contribution directly supports securing a permanent market and garden space and the expansion of our hands-on gardening and culinary education programs.
